Separate decisions
Strategy chooses audience, proposition and objectives; creative work turns those choices into messages and formats. One person may hold several roles, but responsibility still needs a name. A job title cannot replace a definition of the work expected.
Describe deliverables
Writing produces verified copy and variants; design produces usable materials and files; media work produces plans, settings and follow-up. Titles vary across organisations. Compare tasks and evidence instead of assuming a prestigious label guarantees a relevant skill.
Organise approvals
Identify who confirms product facts, rights and conditions. Creative teams should not have to invent benefits because information is unavailable. Provide a route to reject or correct unverified promises before distribution rather than discovering the issue after launch.
Plan collaboration
State scope, autonomy, contacts and acceptance criteria. Request a relevant work example without demanding an entire unpaid campaign. Review portfolios through context and actual contribution, not merely familiar brand logos.
