Define the intended outcome
Write what you want to produce afterwards: a brief, publication, analysis or calendar. Specify prerequisites and available time. The same programme will not serve a beginner and a team seeking specialist capability equally well.
Inspect practical work
Ask for exercise types, anonymised examples and feedback methods. A tool demonstration does not establish independent competence. Exercises should explain decisions and limitations rather than requiring people merely to repeat a sequence of clicks.
Check facilitation
Clarify format, group size, support and accessibility. If certification is advertised, verify awarding body, scope and validity with its source. A participation certificate and a recognised qualification are not interchangeable; understand what the provider actually promises.
Plan transfer
Schedule real application and a follow-up point. Decide who reviews the first deliverable and which skills remain to learn. Keep a dated programme: products change, and an old screenshot does not establish that demonstrated features still exist.

Worked example
Comparison grid: skill / prerequisites / exercise / feedback / deliverable / follow-up / evidence of any certification. After editorial training, producing a sourced page with an objective and acceptance checks is a verifiable outcome.
