Specify the video’s job
Write audience, question and action after viewing. Select demonstration, interview or explanation according to the need. Asking for a modern video does not resolve duration, script and necessary footage; those decisions otherwise get reopened throughout production.
Prepare resources
List locations, people, products, documents and available permissions. Identify who approves factual claims and who may appear on camera. Prepare an alternative if a location or speaker becomes unavailable, keeping the production plan realistic.
Clarify deliverables
Request formats, captions, source files and distribution rights. Specify territories, duration and excerpt reuse where restrictions apply. Define correction rounds and what constitutes a new request rather than assuming unlimited changes are included.
Accept the final version
Check audio, displayed text, names, numbers and phone playback. Test captions and the publication page. Delivered footage should not contain a product promise the responsible team cannot confirm.

Worked example
Brief: audience / objective / format / target duration / evidence / locations / permissions / deliverables / revisions / acceptance. Demonstrating three functions requires evidence and a teaching order, not only attractive footage.
