Separate branded journeys
Inventory branded needs: official website, product, sign-in, price, compatibility, contact and support. Give each an understandable destination. An app link should state what it actually opens. A directory does not become an official website by adding “official” to its title. Published affiliations and qualifications should reflect documented circumstances.
Align visible identity and metadata
Site name, title, H1 and important links should agree without artificially repeating the brand in every sentence. A help page benefits from identifying the specific problem. Separate publisher contact details from those of an organisation merely mentioned. Historical corporate references do not prove legal continuity or current endorsement.
Connect explanations to access
A support page should provide a procedure and the relevant link instead of forcing readers back to the homepage. Check addresses, languages and necessary parameters. When a service changes, identify the change and date. Returning visitors may recognise a brand without understanding its information architecture; concrete labels reduce wrong turns.
- Branded need
- Verifiable identity
- Specific answer
- Useful destination
Worked example
A “brand subscription refund” query can reach a guide with required details, verified timing and the correct contact. A logo and “Contact us” button alone leave the question unanswered. Do not publish a processing time without a current source.
