Page titles that connect the search task with the brand

A title should help a reader recognise the answer. The brand identifies the publisher; it should not displace the subject or become a list of repeated keywords.

Write from the reader’s decision

Lead with the specific service or problem, followed by a qualifier the page genuinely supports. “HTTPS migration checklist before launch” describes a task. “Amazing best SEO” establishes neither scope nor evidence. Align the visible heading, title element and internal link descriptions.

Use brand names economically

Place the brand where it helps identification, often after the topic. Avoid filling every title with synonyms and towns. Category titles describe a collection; product titles distinguish a model. No fixed character count guarantees that every search interface displays the entire title.

Allow for rewriting and inspect variations

A search engine can show a title different from the one you supplied. Our local preview is illustrative, not a Google screenshot. Check duplicates, blank titles, staging fragments and claims missing from the article. Record the reason and date of a change so later observations can be interpreted.

Worked example

For an assembly manual, compare “Brand | Home” with “Assemble model A12: tools and steps | Brand”. The second identifies the model and task. It does not establish a guaranteed increase in click-through rate.
